THE FLOCK LIGHT WINS A GOOD DESIGN AWARD!

What a flocking thrill it was to be at the Australian good Design Awards, where the Flock Light was announced winner in the Product Design Category! Below, our very own Tim Ottaway proudly shows off the trademark green tick. It’s fair to say, we don’t do this for the awards, but it’s still a pretty great feeling to receive industry recognition for something we’ve worked very hard on and believe could save many lives.

In the words of the Australian Good Design Awards jury:

“The Flock Light introduces a groundbreaking approach to cycling visibility by highlighting the cyclist’s moving legs. The Jury commends the design for its innovation and the ability to enhance safety by making cyclists more visible on the road. This unique feature sets a new standard for rear bike lights, demonstrating a high level of research and development. The Flock Light’s design represents a significant advancement in cycling safety technology.”

Each year, the Good Design Awards recognises the pinnacle of design excellence, and this year was no different. The 2024 theme "The Design Effect" underscored the crucial role design plays in shaping better products, services, spaces, and experiences while driving the transition to a more sustainable, less carbon-intensive future.

As designers, we believe in the power of good design and the impact it can have on the quality of our lives, our cities and our planet, so this theme really resonated with us. There is something magical about being in a room full of innovative and visionary people, actively working to solve some of our most pressing problems, while doing it with such consideration and elegance.

What a privilege it was to be a part of this cohort, and congratulations to all the winners!
